Org. Setting and Reporting

The Associate Donor Relations and Projects Support Officer reports directly to the Field Programme Support Officer.

Responsibilities

– Participates, as necessary, in meetings with representatives of donor countries and organizations;

– Prepares briefing documents for the Field Director, senior management and Donor meetings as requested;

– Prepares project proposals and reports; as required, works on assigned project/s independently and coordinates with relevant staff in projects team;

– Formulates high-quality and responsive project proposals, concept papers, and project reports in coordination with respective field departments;

– Ensures that Project Cycle Management (PCM) principles are incorporated into the formulation and implementation of all projects;

– Monitors the implementation of projects in coordination with field departments and verifies adherence to donor requirements;

– Assists in building the capacity of field department staff to develop proposals and prepare reports; assists with the writing, editing, formatting, and proof reading of proposals and reports;

Education

A university degree from an accredited educational institution in International Relations, Political Science, Development or Humanitarian Studies, Public Administration, Social Sciences or other related field.

Work Experience

– At least four years of experience in international cooperation project management in the context of donor governments or international non–governmental organizations.
– A minimum of 2 continuous years of relevant international experience outside UNRWA, and outside the country(s) of which the candidate is a national or holds citizenship, a passport or a national identity number.
– Experience in external relations, fund-raising and/or project management (desirable)
– UN experience (desirable)
– Knowledge of the Middle East context and Palestinian issues (desirable)

Languages

Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Assessment

Type of Contract and duration: Temporary for 12 months, with the possibility of further extension based on need, funding and performance.

The incumbent may be required to travel in the Agency’s area of operations.
